7:20 – 7:50pm Fitness

Fitness training lasts for 30 minutes and is taken by members of the club. This session consists of interval running and muscle conditioning activities, including circuit sessions and team games.

8:00 – 9:15 pm Skills Training

Skills training is taken by our coaches and consists of hockey drills to improve fitness, hand-eye coordination, game awareness and general hockey skills. The drills are designed to cover all defense, mid-field and attacking play. Drills are chosen based on improvement needs, as discussed by players and coaches and decisions by the Captain. The last part of the skills training is generally a short game.

What to bring to Training

You will need the following for training:

  • Stick (new players can borrow sticks)
  • Shin Pads (required)
  • Gum shield (recommended)
  • Astroturf shoes (recommended)
  • Hockey glove (Optional)
  • Water
